The Al Sadd first team wrapped up their preparations for the upcoming game against Qatar SC, with a final training session on Monday evening at the club’s training facility. The second round game in Group A of the 2020-21 Ooredoo Cup will kick off at 8 pm on Tuesday, at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.
Al-Sadd have been drawn in Group A of the 2020-21 Ooredoo Cup alongside Al-Duhail, Al-Sailiya, Al-Khor, Al-Wakrah and Qatar SC. The Wolves’ first match in the tournament against Al-Duhail was postponed due to AFC Champions League commitments, and they will now look to begin their campaign with three points.
Tuesday’s match will witness the absence of 10 Al-Sadd players who are currently with the national team squad, ahead of the friendly against Ghana on October 12.
The national team squad includes the following Al-Sadd players: Saad Al-Dosari, Abdulkarim Hassan, Khokhi Boualem, Tarek Salman, Musaab Khidir, Akram Afif, Hassan Al-Haydos, Muhammad Waad, Pedro, Ahmed Suhail.
Meanwhile, Al-Sadd’s Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah left Doha to join his country’s national team, which is preparing to play two friendly matches during the international break in October. Algeria is scheduled to play Nigeria on October 9 in Austria, and will then face Mexico on the 13th in the Netherlands.
