The Al-Sadd first team dominated their match against Al-Sailiya in Round 16 of the 2022-23 QNB Stars League season, winning 4-0 at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Friday.
Al-Sadd took an early lead with a goal from Akram Afif in the 10th minute, following a pass from Santi Cazorla. Guilherme Torres scored the second goal in the 25th minute with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, while Baghdad Bounedjah added the third goal in the 31st minute after a well-executed attack.
Al-Sailiya failed to challenge Al-Sadd’s defense and the first half ended with Al-Sadd leading 3-0. In the second half, Al-Sadd continued to dominate, hitting the crossbar in the 55th minute with a shot from Cazorla.
Al-Sadd made a substitution at the start of the second half, with Khoukhi Boualem replaced by Musaab Khidir, who played on the right side, while Tarek Salman switched to the heart of the defence next to Jung Woo-young.
Substitute Ahmed Sayyar scored Al-Sadd’s fourth goal in the 70th minute, after a rebound from Khidir’s shot, which was saved by Al Sailiya goalkeeper Claude Amin. With this victory, Al-Sadd increased their points to 28, remaining in third place in the league table.
The match also saw the first participation of the team’s new signing, Ayoub El Kaabi.
