Roberto Mancini, Al-Sadd’s head coach, stressed the importance of the upcoming match against UAE’s Al-Wahda in the fifth round of the AFC Champions League Elite 2025–2026.
Mancini said during the pre-match press conference: “We are facing a very strong team. Winning is crucial for Al-Sadd — there is no alternative. We need the three points to continue climbing the standings.”
The Italian coach added: “My team is ready for the match, and we are fully prepared for tomorrow’s game against Al-Wahda. Without a doubt, Al-Wahda are a good team, and we must be at our highest level of readiness to achieve what we want from this match.”
The Al-Sadd coach continued: “We did not have a good start to the tournament, and we hope to deliver a better performance in tomorrow’s match, which we consider our real starting point in this season’s AFC Champions League Elite.”
He concluded: “Our goal is to win every match we play, and the players are capable of achieving that.”
From his side, Al-Sadd’s Brazilian full-back Paulo Otávio emphasized the importance of the upcoming match against Al-Wahda in the fifth round of the AFC Champions League Elite.
Otávio said: “We have an important match ahead of us against a big team. We need the three points to get our first win in the tournament and continue working towards qualifying for the next stages.”
The Al-Sadd player added: “The team is fully prepared. We achieved a recent win in the league, and we will work to do the same in the Champions League.”
