Roberto Mancini: We made mistakes in the second half

Al-Sadd’s head coach Roberto Mancini expressed his deep sadness over the team’s 1–3 loss to Al-Wahda of the UAE, in the fifth round of the AFC Champions League Elite 2025-2026.

Mancini said in his post-match remarks: “We were excellent in the first half. We scored, played in a great way, and we were capable of scoring more goals.”

He added: “In the second half, we lost Firmino and Guilherme, and we made a number of mistakes that gave the opponent the ability to come back. The match did not go in our favor.”

The Italian coach pointed out that he knows Al-Sadd is a big club, and the task will not be easy. He said: “Al-Sadd is a big team and we must improve. We will use the break period to develop the team for the better. We have a difficult mission ahead, but I have full confidence that the players will improve in the coming stage.”
