Al-Sadd head coach Felix Sanchez spoke about the importance of the upcoming Ooredoo Stars League clash against Al-Gharafa, in the Round 6 game which will be played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Thursday.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Sanchez said: “We have a very difficult game coming up. We know that after the last game, it is very important for us to show the people that we want to come back into the competition and show a good performance.”
On the opponents, he said: “We know that we are going to face a very difficult game. They have a lot of players from last year and it’s also the same technical staff. They’re very organised in defence and it’s going to be a difficult game but we are confident we can play well.”
He added: “Of course, as I said before, we want to play a good game to keep our supporters happy. We had two bad results and we are also not happy with the performance. We know that it is an opportunity for us to come back and to show the people that the team is ready and that we have the desire to do much better.”
Meanwhile, Al-Sadd right-back Pedro spoke about the team’s desire to make amends.
“We have an important game for us because we didn’t play so well in the league so far. But God willing, we can show a different image of ourselves in the game against Al-Gharafa,” he said.
“It is important to get three points in this game. I hope all my teammates are ready for this game because it is going to be difficult facing a good team like Al-Gharafa, but I hope we enter with our 100% and get three points.”
Pedro added: “For sure, our supporters are not so happy with us with what we have shown so far in the league. I know that they are sad because we haven’t performed as well as we did last year. But I give my word that we will show another face against Al-Gharafa to get three points for you, and start a new phase for the team, and we will keep going until the end to make you happy.”
