Al-Sadd head coach Felix Sanchez spoke about the difficulty of the upcoming Ooredoo Stars League Round 7 game against Al-Shahania.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Sanchez said: “We started to prepare with almost the full squad. Some players are missing because of their national team matches.”
He added: “It’s always a different game when you come back after the international break, because our players arrive from different countries.”
“We are going to try to prepare as quick as possible and to play a good game against Al-Shahania. We know that we need the points and we know that it will be tough against a team that got a good result in the last game.”
“But we are confident in our ability to play a good game.”
He said: “We got three points in the last game before the international break which was very important for us, because it was against a very good team and we had been coming from a defeat, but we know that it’s more than 20 days since that game
“To be at the top of the league, you have to keep winning games and that’s what we are always trying for. Hopefully we keep improving, and we know it’s a process because we also have to deal with the players coming from the national teams.”
Sanchez concluded: “We have an intense game coming up in the Champions League Elite and we need to manage all these things with the mentality to keep improving.”
Meanwhile, Al-Sadd’s Hashim Ali spoke of the importance of getting a win over Al-Shahaniya.
He said: “We are ready to face Al-Shahania and getting three points is very important for us, especially considering the way we started in the league.”
“Every game is like a final for us now.”
He added: “I think that we have more than five games in a short period of time and we’ll be playing every 2-3 days. But we believe in our squad and whoever gets the chance to play will give 100%”
And as I said, every remaining game is like a final for us
