Sergio Alegre, the coach of Al-Sadd, expressed his sadness following the team’s 1-3 loss to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal in the third round of the AFC Champions League Elite.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Sergio said: “Al-Hilal dominated the first half and scored two goals. We were better in the second half, creating more attempts and chances, but in the end, Al-Hilal secured the victory.”
The Al-Sadd coach continued: “We have two points from three matches, and we will strive to collect more points in the upcoming games. We didn’t have a good start to the tournament and haven’t earned many points, but we are capable of making a comeback in the competition.”
Regarding Al-Hilal scoring three goals from set pieces, Alegre stated: “I cannot blame Al-Sadd’s players. We faced a strong team that excels at set pieces, and we will work to correct our mistakes.”
