Al-Sadd assistant coach Sergio Alegre expressed his dissatisfaction after his side lost 2-1 to Al-Nassr in the sixth and final matchday of the AFC Champions League group stage.
Speaking at the press conference after the match, Sergio said: “It was an intense match. We were hoping to win and ensure qualification. We played well in the first 20 minutes, but after the first goal of Al-Nassr, we fell back. We lost in some positions and tried to compensate in the last few minutes but we did not succeed.”
He added: “There are many things that happened during the match that we did not understand, and we have to wait for tomorrow to find out our position in qualifying.”
Regarding the players’ reaction during the match, the assistant coach said: “The players’ reaction is normal and there’s nothing wrong with it. During the match, there were many things that need a reaction, but these are normal things that happen in football.”
When asked about the refereeing decisions in the match, he said: “We have not seen these decisions yet in the match video, so I will not be able to comment on them.”
