Al-Sadd win 73rd overall title

Al-Sadd added to their trophy gallery with their triumph in the 2020 Amir Cup final over Al-Arabi, bringing their overall title count to 73.

The 2-1 win over Al-Arabi at Al-Rayyan Stadium also marked the Wolves’ 17th title in the history of the competition.

Al-Sadd conclude preparations for the Amir Cup final

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of Al-Sadd, the football first team held their final training session on Thursday at Al-Rayyan Stadium, ahead of facing Al-Arabi in the 2020 Amir Cup final.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed attended the game to show his support for the coaching staff and the players, before the important match, during which Al-Sadd will look to win the title for the 17th time. Head of Football Mohammed Ghanem Al-Ali was also present at the training session, alongside Abdulaziz Al Attiyah. ... 

Hassan Al-Haydos: A crucial match awaits us in the final, it will be decided by small details

Al-Sadd captain Hassan Al-Haydos described his side’s upcoming match against Al-Arabi in the Amir Cup final as a crucial game, which will be decided by “small details”.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Al Haydos said: “Whoever expects that the match to be easy for Al Sadd knows nothing about football. The final will be decided by small details.” ... 

Xavi: We are excited to play the final, Al Arabi is a good team

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez addressed the media at the pre-match press conference ahead of the Amir Cup final against Al-Arabi, confirming his side’s readiness and motivation to win the title.

“We are really happy and proud to be in the final. It was not an easy way. We defeated Al-Kharaitiyat, and then Al-Wakrah on penalties, and Al-Duhail in the semifinals, which was an amazing game from our part,” said the coach. ... 

Al-Sadd hold main training session to prepare for the Amir Cup final

The Al-Sadd first team held its main training session on Wednesday, at the club’s training facility, in preparation for the Amir Cup 2020 final against Al-Arabi, which will kick off at 7 PM on Friday at Al Rayyan Stadium.

The Wolves are aiming to win their 17th title in the competition, after qualifying for the final for the 26th time in the club’s history. ... 

Xavi: It was a deserved win over one of the best teams in the league

Al-Sadd head coach expressed his satisfaction after his side defeated Al-Gharafa 4-1 in Round 9 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking to the club website after the game, Xavi said: “We deserve this four-goal win over one of the best teams in the league. We are working hard and seriously to stay at the top of the table. I am very happy with our performance today and the three points.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd extend lead at the top after 4-1 win over Al-Gharafa

Al-Sadd extended their lead at the top of the QNB Stars League after a 4-1 win over Al-Gharafa in the Round 9 game which was played at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Sunday.

The result took Al-Sadd’s tally to 25 points from 8 wins and a draw. Khoukhi Boualem (5’), Santi Cazorla (64’), Akram Afif (84’) and Baghdad Bounedjah (90’) scored for the Wolves, while Koo Ja-cheol netted the only goal for Al-Gharafa (77’). ...
