Ooredoo Cup: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Sailiya in opening game

Al-Sadd defeated 4-0 against Al-Sailiya, in the 2022-23 Ooredoo Cup Group A Round 1 game that took place today, at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium.

With this victory, Al-Sadd recorded their first three points in the competition. After a goalless first half, substitute Hassan Ahmed opened the scoring in the 58th minute, before Santi Cazorla doubled the lead in the 75th minute. Faisal Azadi netted the third in the 89th minute, and Rodrigo Tabata completed the scoring in the second minute of stoppage time.  ... 

Ooredoo Cup: Al-Sadd conclude preparations to face Al-Sailiya

Al-Sadd’s first team concluded their preparations for facing Al-Sailiya in the 2022-23 Ooredoo Cup Group A first round game, which will be played on Monday evening at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium.

The Wolves enters the match missing several players, most notably the Qatari internationals who are away with the national team, in addition to the Jung Woo-young and Andre Ayew who have been called up to represent their countries in the current international break. ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd lose 2-1 to Al-Wakrah

Al-Sadd lost 2-1 to Al-Wakrah in the QNB Stars League Round 7 game which was played on Wednesday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

The result means that Al-Sadd go into the league break, with a tally of 7 points from 7 games, after two victories, four defeats and a draw.

Gelson Dala netted twice for Al-Wakrah (73′, 88′), either side of Al-Sadd’s lone goal, which came from a penalty scored by Santi Cazorla in the 86th minute. ... 

Juanma: Al-Wakrah is a complicated opponent, we missed Tabata in the last three games

Al-Sadd head coach Juanma addressed the media and spoke of the difficulty of facing Al-Wakrah in the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 7 clash.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Juanma said: “It seems to me to be that Al-Wakrah is a team that has earned a reputation within the country for its way of playing, with good organisation and has a way of approaching matches or a very clear attacking intention.” ...

Al-Sadd CEO Turki Al-Ali received at the club’s training centre on Monday evening His Excellency Mr. Mustapha Ussif, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Ghana.

In attendance at the club during the visit, was Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al Thani, member of the club’s executive council, Mohamed Ghanem Al Ali, head of the football department, and Mohamed Ghulam Al Balushi, the club’s sporting director. ...

The Al-Sadd first team continued with its daily training sessions, in preparation for facing Al-Wakrah, in the QNB Stars League Round 7 game that will be played on Wednesday at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.

On Sunday, all the players who are currently with the team trained under the leadership of the team’s head coach Juanma, who worked on intensifying the preparations for the next match. ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd fall to a 1-2 defeat to Al-Shamal

Al-Sadd fell to a 1-2 defeat to Al-Shamal, in the QNB Stars League Round 6 match that was held on Tuesday at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

With this result, Al-Sadd remain on 7 points, after two victories, a draw and three defeats.

Al Sadd went ahead through Andre Ayew in the 7th minute, before Amjad Atwan scored the equaliser for Al Shamal in the 20th minute from a penalty. Ali Alwan added the second goal for Al Shamal in the 34th minute. ... 

Hashim Ali: Our full focus is on the upcoming game against Al-Shamal

Al-Sadd forward Hashim Ali addressed the media ahead of the upcoming QNB Stars League game against Al-Shamal, and spoke about the importance of the clash.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Hashim said: “The next match is very important for us and we are fully committed.”

“After winning the last game we have 7 points and we need 3 points in the next game also to improve our position in the table, and so, as I mentioned, the next match is very important for us.” ...
