Javi Gracia: It wasn’t an easy game against Muaither

Al-Sadd coach Javi Gracia stressed the importance of his side’s 1-0 victory over Muaither, a result that took them to the quarter-finals of the Amir Cup.

Speaking during the press conference after the match, Gracia said: “To play these kinds of games is not easy for the team. The objective was to keep going in this competition and we achieved it.” ...

Amir Cup: Al-Sadd overcome Muaither to reach quarterfinals

Al-Sadd reached the quarterfinals of the 2022 Amir Cup after a 1-0 victory over Muaither, in the Round of 16 clash which was played at Grand Hamad Stadium on Sunday.

Yousuf Abdurisag scored the lone goal of the game in the 14th minute. Al-Sadd will now meet the winner of the game between Al-Ahli and Al-Markhiya in the quarterfinal stage. ... 

Amir Cup: Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Muaither

Al-Sadd concluded preparations to face Muaither in the Round of 16 of the 2022 Amir Cup, with a final training session on Saturday, at the club’s training facility.

During the final session, the coaching staff implemented the physical training programme, along with some light skill drills, before head coach Javi Gracia announced the list of players for the game. The squad consists of the following 19 players: Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Yousef Al-Balushi, Pedro Miguel, Tarek Salman, Musaab Khidir, Abdulkarim Hassan, Santi Cazorla, Rodrigo Tabata, Ali Asad, Khoukhi Boualem, Abdullah Al-Yazidi, Baghdad Bounedjah, Akram Afif, Andre Ayew, Hassan Al-Haydos, Jung Woo-young, Moustafa Tarek, Yousuf Abdurisag. ... 

Moustafa Tarek: The Amir Cup is different from the league, facing Muaither will be difficult

Al-Sadd first team player Moustafa Tarek Meshaal stressed the importance of the upcoming game against Muaither in the Round of 16 of the Amir Cup 2022.

Speaking during the press conference, Moustafa said: “The Muaither match will be difficult because Amir Cup matches are completely different compared to the league. We will play the match with great focus throughout the 90 minutes.” ...

Al-Sadd’s reserve team achieved a 1-0 victory over their counterparts from Al-Arabi, in the Reserve Leage Round 8 game which was played on Friday at the Al-Sailiya Pitch.

With this victory, the Wolves increased their points tally to 8 from two victories, two draws and four defeats. Mahdi Salem scored the lone goal of the game. ... 

Javi Gracia: We didn’t perform as well as we hoped for against Umm Salal

Al-Sadd coach Javi Gracia spoke about the importance of his team’s 2-0 win over Umm Salal in Round 18 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking after the game, Gracia told the club’s website: “It is important in some matches, where you are not at the level you hope to be, to get the three points. The opponent created space in the second half and threatened our goal more than once, but we managed to clinch the match with the second goal.” ... 

Meshaal Barsham: Umm Salal is a stubborn opponent

Al-Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham described his side’s upcoming match against Umm Salal, in Round 18 of the QNB Stars League, as a difficult encounter, and spoke of the team’s aim to keep winning.

Addressing the media at the pre-match press conference, Meshaal said: “It will be an intense and difficult encounter against Umm Salal. They’re a stubborn opponent and they’ve been performing well. Our goal is to continue our winning run and to get another three points.” ...
