Khoukhi Boualem: We are awaiting our fans to celebrate the title victory with them

Al-Sadd defender Khoukhi Boualem saluted the team’s fans after the successful defence of the QNB Stars League title.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the Round 20 fixture against Al-Duhail, Khoukhi said: “The fans of Al-Sadd deserve this title after a tiring season. I want to congratulate the players and coaching staff as well, for winning the title with three rounds to go.” ... 

Javi Gracia: We know we are the champions but we need to maintain our level

Al-Sadd head coach Javi Gracia spoke of his side’s readiness ahead of what he described as “one of the most important games of the season” against Al-Duhail in Round 20 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Gracia said: “The next game for us is a big clash against a very good team. They’re getting great results and they are in the second position in the table.” ... 

Javi Gracia: Happy to win the league title, I thank the players for their efforts

Al Sadd head coach Javi Gracia expressed his happiness with the team’s 8-2 victory over Al-Ahli, which clinched the 2021-22 QNB Stars League title.

In his statement to the club’s website after the match, Gracia said: “I thank the players for the effort they have made throughout the season, along with the technical, administrative and medical staff. This is a very wonderful moment for the fans to share the joy of winning the league title, and I want to tell them that the players are still thirsty for more titles, and we will continue on the same path to win more.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd clinch title after 8-2 win over Al-Ahli

Al-Sadd clinched the 2021-22 QNB Stars League title with a 8-2 victory over Al-Ahli in the Round 19 game which was played on Monday at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium.

The victory took Al-Sadd’s tally to 52 points from 18 games, with a postponed fixture against Al-Rayyan yet to be played.

Akram Afif opened the scoring for Al-Sadd in the tenth minute, finishing off coolly after a perfect squared ball from Ali Asad on the right. ... 

Akram Afif: We are only focused on ourselves ahead of the game against Al-Ahli

Al-Sadd forward Akram Afif has emphasised his side’s readiness ahead of the upcoming game against Al-Ahli in Round 19 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Akram said: “The Al-Ahli match will be very difficult because it could decide the title. Al-Ahli is going through a good period, better than at the beginning of the season, and we will try to create a surprise in this match.” ... 

Reserve League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Ahli 4-0

Al-Sadd’s reserve team defeated their counterparts at Al-Ahli 4-0, in Round 9 of the Reserve League championship. The game was played on Friday at Al-Sailiya Pitch.

With this victory, the Wolves increased their points tally to 11, from 3 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats.

All four of Al-Sadd’s goals came in the span of six second half minutes. Abdullah Al Yazidi (74’, 78’), Muhammad Salem Al-Quraishi (75’) and Mustafa Tarek Meshaal (80’) netted the goals. ... 

Ali Asad: We always play for the win, we now need one more to lift the title

Al-Sadd midfielder Ali Asad expressed his happiness after his side’s important 1-0 victory over Qatar SC, in the postponed match from the Round 13 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking after the match: “Praise be to God for the victory. We play every match to win only, and therefore all matches are difficult. We are always looking for victory, and now we need a single win to lift the league title.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd defeat Qatar SC 1-0

Al-Sadd recorded a 1-0 victory over Qatar SC, in the rescheduled fixture from Round 13 of the QNB Stars League, which was played on Thursday at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.

Qatar SC defender Bahaa El-Leithy scored into his own net for the lone goal of the game in the 7th minute. The result meant that Al-Sadd increased their points tally to 49 from 17 games, with a postponed fixture against Al-Rayyan yet to be played. ...
