QNB Stars League: Nam and Cazorla score as Al-Sadd defeat Al-Gharafa 2-0

A goal apiece in each half gave Al-Sadd a 2-0 victory over Al-Gharafa in the QNB Stars League Round 20 game that was played at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday.

The result saw Al-Sadd take their points tally to 54, with the team remaining unbeaten this season. Nam Tae-hee put the Wolves in the lead with his strike in 16th minute, before Santi Cazorla dispatched a penalty in the 65th minute to complete the scoring. ... 

Bahaa Al Laithi: A difficult match awaits us against Al-Gharafa

Al-Sadd defender Bahaa Al-Laithi stressed on the importance of good preparation, ahead of the upcoming clash with Al-Gharafa in Round 20 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Bahaa said: “A difficult match awaits us against Al-Gharafa. We won the league title and achieved our main goal of the competition, but every match we enter, our goal is to win and give our best.” ... 

Xavi: Facing Al Gharafa will be difficult, our focus is on winning

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez addressed the media ahead of the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 20 game against Al-Gharafa, stressing on the difficulty of the clash.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “We have the Al Gharafa game coming up next, and as you know it’s always difficult to face Al Gharafa. They have a very good coach, and an impressive team with good foreigner and local players.” ... 

Qatargas U23 League: Al-Sadd face Al-Gharafa with title up for grabs

The Al-Sadd U23 team is set to face an intense encounter when they play Al-Gharafa , in the 20th round of the Qatargas U23 League, with the championship title up for grabs. The match that will kick off at 6:30 PM on Friday evening at Al-Sailiya Club..

Ali Asad returns to training

Al Sadd midfielder Ali Asad returned to training with the first team on Sunday after his recovery from a muscle injury.

Ali made his return during Sunday’s training session, which saw the first team resume training after a two-day break, to prepare for the restart of the QNB Stars League.

During the session, head coach Xavi and his staff focused on physical fitness, with the team set to face tough challenges at home and in Asia in the upcoming period. Later, the players worked on technical and tactical training. ... 

Al-Sadd continue training ahead of QSL restart

The Al-Sadd first team continued training on Wednesday, in preparation for the resumption of the QNB Stars League after the international break.

The league is currently suspended until the end of our national team’s matches in March, in the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

Al-Sadd are currently training in the absence of 21 players, with 12 internationals who are currently away with the senior Qatar national team (Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Pedro Miguel, Musab Khidir, Tarek Salman, Abdelkarim Hassan, Khoukhi Boualem, Yousuf Abdurisag, Muhammad Waad, Hassan Al-Haydos, Ahmed Suhail, Salem Al-Hajri), in addition to 6 players in the Qatar U-23 team, who are playing two friendly matches against Kosovo on March 26 and 29, in preparation for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers to be held next October (Bahaa Al-Laithi, Hashem Abdullatif, Mustafa Meshaal, Yousuf Al-Balushi, Faisal Azadi, Muhammad Mannai). ... 

Al-Sadd resume training amid absence of 21 players

The Al-Sadd first team resumed training on Tuesday, after a period of rest which followed the last QNB Stars League game against Al Wakrah.

The league is currently suspended until the end of our national team’s matches in March, in the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
