Wesam Rizik, the coach of Al-Sadd, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s 2-0 victory over Sharjah FC in the fifth round of the AFC Champions League.
Wesam stated after the match, “We faced a strong opponent and secured three points. The players played with a high fighting spirit. We dominated the first half, scored, and in the second half, we maintained a great balance between defense. Baghdad added the second goal, and we sealed the match in our favor.”
The coach added, “We achieved a significant morale-boosting win that keeps our chances alive until the last round for qualification. I’m proud of the players and thankful for their manly performance, which earned us the match points.”
Regarding his start with Al-Sadd and the first victory, Wesam said, “The beginning couldn’t be better. It’s an honor to be a player and now a coach for Al-Sadd. I hope the last round goes in our favor, and we secure qualification for the knockout stage.”
Wesam concluded, “The mentality of Al-Sadd is always to play for the win. We studied the opposing team well, closed all the playing keys, and achieved our goal for the match.”
