Al-Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez said that his team deserved more than a draw, after the 3-3 stalemate with Al Duhail in their QNB Stars League Round 9 match on Wednesday.
Speaking after the match, Xavi said: “We deserved more. Al Duhail played with ten players, and we conceded goals from set pieces – we shoud have dealt with them correctly.”
The coach continued: “The team’s performance fell in the last 10 minutes of the match, and after we scored the third goal. We had to keep the ball and play in their court, and we did not do this, especially as this is our usual philosophy.”
Xavi added that the Wolves entered the match with the goal of winning, and said: “We did not play for a draw in this match, we deserved more than that. We maintained the three-point difference and we hope to continue in the same way.”
