Al-Sadd head coach Wesam Rizk expressed his deep disappointment with the result after his team drew 2-2 with Nasaf of Uzbekistan, in the sixth and final round of Group B in the AFC Champions League.
Wesam said in his post-match statements, “I’m saddened by the result of the match. We were playing for a win to maintain our chances of advancing to the next round.”
The coach continued, “Despite being in the second position in the group, things have become extremely difficult for us now in the calculations for going through.”
Regarding the players’ performance against Nasaf, Wesam stated, “I am satisfied with what the players showed today. We played with a high fighting spirit and squandered several clear opportunities, but that’s football. We were the more dangerous side and failed to score in many chances.”
