Hassan Al-Haydos: Luck was not on our side today

Al-Sadd captain Hassan Al-Haydos affirmed that the draw against Nasaf was unsatisfactory as the team had aimed to win and ensure qualification for the next round in the AFC Champions League.

In his post-match statement, Al-Haydos said, “Unfortunately, we made things difficult for ourselves, as it was possible to secure more points in the group stage, but we did not succeed in doing so.”

He added, “The sad thing after this draw is seeing the fans leave the stadium disappointed, but we promise to compensate for this result in the upcoming matches. We will work on correcting the mistakes in the coming games to avoid ending the season without a title.”

Regarding the reasons that prevented Al-Sadd from defeating Nasaf, he said, “Luck is crucial in football, and if we lose it, sometimes the results do not come out in a satisfactory manner. Against Nasaf, we had several opportunities that, if we had used them better, could have led us to the desired victory. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side, and now we need to focus on competing in the domestic tournaments.”
