Colombian player Matheus Uribe of Al Sadd was awarded the Man of the Match award, after his performance against Persepolis in the AFC Champions League Elite third round game on Monday.
In his post-match remarks, Matheus said: “We knew the match would be tough, but we prepared well, studied our opponent, and succeeded in achieving our goal by winning the game.”
He added: “In football, you don’t always have to be the better team to win. What’s important is to score and keep a clean sheet.”
