Al-Sadd head coach Felix Sanchez highlighted the importance of the upcoming AFC Champions League Round of 16 second-leg match against Al-Wasl.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, he said: “This will be our fourth match against Al-Wasl this season and our second in a week. All our games against them have been tough, competitive, and evenly matched. They are a strong, well-organized team, but we are ready for the challenge and eager to qualify for the next round.”

Regarding Al-Sadd’s failure to beat Al-Wasl in their previous three encounters this season, Sanchez noted: “Small details often make the difference in matches like these. Unfortunately, we haven’t won in our last three meetings, despite performing well. But tonight presents a golden opportunity to change that. We have played against strong teams in this competition and proven our capabilities. We will push hard to achieve victory.”
On playing in multiple competitions, he said: “Al-Sadd players are used to handling pressure. Everyone understands their responsibility, and our goal remains the same—winning every match. That is our reality, and we must adapt and fight for qualification.”
