Al-Sadd head coach Felix Sanchez praised his team’s performance in their 3-1 victory over Al-Wasl, which secured their spot in the AFC Champions League Elite quarterfinals for the 2024-2025 season.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Sánchez said: “We secured an important win and deservedly qualified for the quarterfinals.”
He continued: “I want to congratulate all Al-Sadd fans. We controlled the game and delivered an excellent performance against a strong Al-Wasl side. The players deserved this victory, and we hope for success in the next round.”
Regarding the upcoming stage, he stated: “It’s great to reach this phase of the competition. We are progressing step by step, aiming to go as far as possible.”
Sanchez also acknowledged the fans’ support, saying: “We appreciate the fans for their presence. They were the team’s backbone tonight. Now, we are among the top eight teams in Asia, and we will give our best in the next rounds.”
