Al-Sadd defender Abdelkarim Hassan said that his team achieved their objective with a 4-0 win over Al-Ahli, which saw them progress to the semifinals of the Amir Cup.
In his statement after the match, Abdelkarim said: “We played well during the match, settled things in the best way, and reached the semi-finals, in our campaign to defend the title.”
He added: “We started the match strongly in order to clinch victory, and we actually managed to score two early goals which made our task easier.”
“We did not give Al-Ahli the opportunity to get back into the match, and we succeeded in imposing our style and excelled over the course of the two halves. We managed to qualify for the semi-finals in the way we hoped to, without much troubles.”
On the prospect of facing Al Duhail in the semi-finals, in the event of their victory over Al Sailiya, Abdelkarim said, “The games between our two teams are always intense and do not end without goals. So, it will be a clash full of strength, rivalry and excitement, and we hope that we will be able to win it.”
