Al-Sadd coach Javi Gracia expressed his happiness after his side’s big 5-2 win over Jordanian side Al-Wehdat, in the third round of the AFC Champions League 2022 group stage.
In his statement during the press conference after the match, Gracia said: “I am very happy with the victory over Al-Wehdat and the performance of the players in the match. We performed well against Nasaf and Al-Faisaly in the first two rounds, but we were not successful.”
The Al-Sadd coach added: “We were very distinguished in the offensive aspects, especially in the second half, and I thank all our players for what they gave in the match, and I hope that we will follow this same approach in the upcoming matches.”
About the absence of Baghdad Bounedjah, in the squad for the game, the coach said: “I am happy with the performance of all the players. Andre Ayew was not present in the first two matches and no one asked about it, and today Baghdad was not present with us. I am the one who chooses the right players for the team in every match and all the players are important to me.”
The Spanish coach concluded by saying: “We played a good match and got our first victory in the group. We have 3 matches left and we will try our best to win in order to compete for the top spot of the group.”
