Al-Sadd held their main training session on Tuesday evening, ahead of the upcoming 2020-21 QNB Stars League opener against Al-Kharaitiyat. The match is set to be played at the Edcuation City Stadium on Thursday.
The Wolves go into the game in high spirits, as they look to kickstart the new season on a good note with their first three points.
The coaching staff, led by Xavi Hernandez, held a meeting with the players prior to the start of Tuesday’s session, explaining the team’s objectives in the upcoming game, which is set to be a challenging one at the start of the campaign.
Tuesday’s session also saw the presence of representatives of the club management, with head of football Mohammed Ghanem Al-Ali and general manager Turki Al-Ali in attendance to show their support for the players ahead of the opening game.
Meanwhile, Khoukhi Boualem made his return to routine training after recovering from an injury that had kept him out of action for 10 days.
New signing Guilherme Torres took part in his first training session with Al-Sadd, after joining the club on a three-year deal from Greek side Olympiacos.
The first team is now scheduled to hold their final training session on Wednesday evening from 6:30 PM onwards, after which Xavi will announce the matchday squad.
