Al-Sadd resume training amid absence of 21 players

The Al-Sadd first team resumed training on Tuesday, after a period of rest which followed the last QNB Stars League game against Al Wakrah.

The league is currently suspended until the end of our national team’s matches in March, in the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

Al-Sadd trained on Tuesday without 21 players, with 12 internationals who are currently away with the senior Qatar national team (Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Pedro Miguel, Musab Khidir, Tarek Salman, Abdelkarim Hassan, Khoukhi Boualem, Yousuf Abdurisag, Muhammad Waad, Hassan Al-Haydos, Ahmed Suhail, Salem Al-Hajri), in addition to 6 players in the Qatar U-23 team, who are playing two friendly matches against Kosovo on March 26 and 29, in preparation for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers to be held next October (Bahaa Al-Laithi, Hashem Abdullatif, Mustafa Meshaal, Yousuf Al-Balushi, Faisal Azadi, Muhammad Mannai). Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah has also travelled abroad, in order to join his national team in preparation for the qualifiers for the 2022 African Nations Cup in Cameroon.

Meanwhile, Ali Asad and Akram Afif are continuing with their medical treatment and recuperation, after missing the recent games due to injury.
