Al-Sadd resume training without internationals

The Al-Sadd football first team resumed training on Thursday, after a four-day break.

The Wolves are preparing to participate in the 2022 AFC Champions League, where the team will play in Group E alongside Al-Faisaly of Saudi Arabia, Nasaf of Uzbekistan and Al Wehdat of Jordan.

The competition is scheduled to start on the eighth of April, with all the Group E matches being held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Al-Sadd is currently missing 15 players, as 10 players are away with Al Annabi – Saad Al-Dossari, Meshaal Barsham, Pedro Miguel, Musaab Khidir, Tarek Salman, Abdelkarim Hassan, Mohammed Waad, Ali Asad, Akram Afif, Khoukhi Boualem – in preparation for the upcoming international friendlies in March. Meanwhile, captain Hassan Al Haydos is continuing his treatment to recover from injury, under the supervision of the medical staff of the national team.

In addition to the above, two players are with the Qatar U23 national team participating in the Dubai Cup International Championship – Yousuf Abdurisag and Moustafa Tarek. Andre Ayew and Jung Woo-young are also unavailable, having joined their respective national teams – Ghana and South Korea – for their 2022 World Cup qualifier games.

The Al-Sadd squad is currently engaged in daily training with the participation of several young players to compensate for the absence of the first team players, and the technical staff is looking to prepare the team in the best way ahead of the upcoming games.
