Al Sadd endured its first loss in the 2024-25 AFC Champions League Elite, falling 3-1 to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli in Matchday 7 of the West Region group stage on Monday, 3 February, at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
The result means that Al Sadd remained on 12 points in the standings.
Akram Afif gave the hosts an early lead in the first minute. However, Roberto Firmino equalized for Al Ahli in the 10th minute, before Roger Ibañez made it 2-1 in the 39th minute. Riyad Mahrez sealed the victory with Al Ahli’s third goal in the 83rd minute.
