Tarek Salman: We got an impressive win over Al-Ahli

Al-Sadd defender Tarek Salman has described the 3-0 victory over Al-Ahli and qualification to the final of the 2025 Qatar Cup as impressive.

Speaking after the match, Tarek said: “Thank God for the win and for reaching the final of the 2025 Qatar Cup.”

Tarek, who scored the second goal, pointed out that the victory was the result of great effort from both the players and coaching staff. He added: “We achieved an impressive win over Al-Ahli that secured our place in the final to compete for another title.” ... 

Al-Sadd defeat Al-Ahli to reach Qatar Cup final

Al-Sadd advanced to the final of the 2025 Qatar Cup after defeating Al-Ahli 3-0 in their semifinal clash held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Al-Sadd’s goals came through an own goal by defender Matej Mitrovic in the 30th minute, followed by Tarek Salman in the 76th minute, and Rafa Mujica in the 82nd. The Wolves now await the winner of the other semifinal between Al-Duhail and Al-Gharafa, which will be played on Wednesday. ... 

Felix Sanchez: This is a different challenge compared to the league

Felix Sanchez, head coach of Al-Sadd’s first team, spoke about the difficulty of the upcoming Qatar Cup semifinal against Al-Ahli, set to be played on Tuesday evening at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Sanchez said: “We’re happy to have won the league title and to be participating in the Qatar Cup, a competition that brings together the top four teams from the final standings of the Ooredoo Stars League. He added: “Winning the league this season was a real challenge for us. As players, we pledged from the start of the season to defend our title. Al Sadd officially clinched the 2024–2025 Ooredoo Stars League title after a commanding 5–0 victory over Al Ahli on Friday at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in the 22nd and final round of the season.

The victory marked Al Sadd’s 17th win of the league campaign—and their ninth in a row—bringing their total points to 52. His Excellency Mr. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, President of the Qatar Football Association and Chairman of the Qatar Stars League, along with Mr. Hani Taleb Ballan, CEO of the Qatar Stars League, crowned Al Sadd as league champions. The ceremony was also attended by His Excellency Engineer Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Vice President of Al Sadd SC, and His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al Thani, Member of the Club’s Advisory Council. ...
