Yousuf Abdurisag: Happy to return to Al-Sadd, the game against Al-Kharaitiyat will be tough

Al-Sadd attacker Yousuf Abdurisag spoke of his happiness at returning to the club after the end of his loan spell, and also expressed his desire to help the team in the new season.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the opening QNB Stars League clash against Al-Kharaitiyat, Yousuf said: “I am happy to return to the team. I benefited a lot from my time on loan (at Al-Arabi) and I think I am ready to help the team (now).” ... 

Al-Sadd management honour Akram Afif and Tarek Salman

The Al-Sadd club management honoured Akram Afif and Tarek Salman, on the sidelines of Tuesday’s training session, in recognition of their achievements at the post-season QFA awards.

Akram was named as the Best Player, in addition to sharing the Top Scorer award with Yacine Brahimi of Al-Rayyan for leading the charts with 15 goals last season. Tarek won the Best U-23 Player award. ...

Al-Sadd is pleased to announce the signing of Guilherme Torres on a three-year contract, from Greek side Olympiacos.

The 29-year-old Brazilian midfielder had arrived in Doha earlier this week, after reaching an agreement with Al-Sadd, while negotiations were still ongoing with Olympiacos to formally complete the transfer. ... 

Akram Afif wins 2019-20 Best Player award, Tarek Salman named as Best U-23 Player

Al-Sadd’s Akram Afif was named as the winner of the Best Player award for the 2019-20 season, after receiving the highest number of votes, over the other contenders Yacine Brahimi of Al-Rayyan, and Edmilson of Al-Duhail.

Akram received 60.91% of the votes to win the award for the second season in a row. It’s been an impressive season for Akram, as he lifted the Sheikh Jassim Cup and Qatar Cup with Al-Sadd, while also finishing with 15 goals in the QNB Stars League to be named as joint top scorer with Brahimi. ... 

Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Gharafa clash, Khoukhi ruled out

The Al-Sadd first team squad concluded their preparations for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 22 clash with Al-Gharafa with a final training session on Wednesday evening. The match is set to kick off at 4 PM on Thursday at Al Janoub Stadium.

The Wolves go into the game occupying third place in the league table with a tally of 44 points, while Al-Gharafa are in fourth with 35 points. The first phase game between the two sides ended in a 5-1 win for Al-Sadd. ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd end season with 1-1 draw against Al-Gharafa

Al-Sadd ended their 2019-20 QNB Stars League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Al-Gharafa in the Round 22 clash which was played at Al-Janoub Stadium on Thursday.

Al-Gharafa took the lead through Ahmed Alaa’s 65th minute goal, before Akram Afif equalised from the penalty spot in the 91st minute, having missed another penalty moments earlier. The game saw Al-Gharafa defender Almahdi Ali get sent off in the 77th minute for a dangerous challenge, while their coach Slavisa Jokanovic was also shown the red card for arguing with the officials in stoppage time. ...
