Amir Cup: Al-Sadd hold main training session ahead of Al-Duhail clash, Bounedjah returns

The Al-Sadd first team held their main training session on Thursday, at the club’s secondary pitch, in preparation for the upcoming Amir Cup 2020 semifinal against Al-Duhail. The game is scheduled to kick off at 6 PM on Saturday at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

Al-Sadd began their Amir Cup campaign earlier in the year with a 3-2 win over Al-Kharaitiyat in the round of 16, before defeating Al-Wakrah on penalties in the quarterfinal. ... 

Xavi: It will be a complicated game against Al-Duhail, we must play with a strong personality to win

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi spoke of the difficulty of his side’s upcoming clash with Al-Duhail in the semifinals of the Amir Cup 2020, describing it as “a complicated game”. The match is set to be played on Saturday at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “We got a two-day break, which is the players deserved, especially after they made a great effort in the last period.” ... 

Qatargas U-23 League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Khor 1-0

The Al-Sadd U-23 registered a 1-0 win over Al-Khor, in their 2020-21 Qatargas U-23 League second round clash, which was played at Al-Sailiya Club on Tuesday. With this victory, Al-Sadd got their its first 3 points in the tournament, after having lost the first game to Al-Duhail.

Rami Suhail scored the lone goal of the game from a penalty in second half stoppage time.  ... 

Al-Sadd begin preparations for Amir Cup semifinal against Al-Duhail

Al-Sadd resumed their training at 5:30 pm on Monday, at the club’s secondary pitch, after the big 7-1 win over Al-Ahli in Round 5 of the QNB Stars League.

The result took the Wolves to the top of the league table with 13 points from 4 wins and a draw.

Al-Sadd is now preparing to face Al-Duhail in the semi-final of the Amir Cup, which will be played on Saturday, October 31 at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. ... 

Mohammed Waad: Team spirit was the reason behind this big win

Al-Sadd’s Mohamed Waad congratulated his teammates after the big 7-1 win over Al-Ahli in the QNB Stars League, and attributed the result to the team’s spirit.

Speaking after the match, Waad said: “The Al-Sadd players put in great effort and outperformed themselves during the match. We have climbed to the top of the table and our goal is to continue there until the end of the competition.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd go top after 7-1 win over Al-Ahli

Al-Sadd climbed to the top of the QNB Stars League table, after a huge 7-1 win over Al-Ahli in the Round 5 game which was played at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium on Sunday evening.

Hashim Ali scored twice for Al-Sadd (5′, 36′), while Rodrigo Tabata (12′), Akram Afif (30′), Santi Cazorla (45′), Nam Tae-hee (58′) and Ahmed Sayyar (90+1′) also got on the scoresheet. Al-Ahli’s lone goal was scored by Nabil El Zhar (54′). ...

Al-Sadd defender Ahmed Suhail praised his side’s performance against Al-Duhail in their last QNB Stars League game, and spoke of the players’ desire to get another positive result in the upcoming Round 5 game against Al-Ahli.
