Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Sailiya clash

The Al-Sadd first team concluded its preparations for facing Al Sailiya, in the QNB Stars League Round 5 game, which is scheduled to kick off at 7:20 PM on Tuesday evening at Education City Stadium.

The Wolves go into the match with 4 points, occupying seventh place in the table, while Al-Sailiya are in 11th place with 3 points. ... 

Talal Behzad: Al-Sailiya is a strong opponent, we were unlucky against Al-Gharafa

Al-Sadd player Talal Behzad emphasised the difficulty of facing Al-Sailiya in their upcoming QNB Stars League Round 5 game, and spoke about his team’s goal to get all three points.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Talal said: “Facing Al-Sailiya will not be easy, as they are a stubborn opponent. Our goal is to give our best, play the match with full strength, and achieve victory.” ... 

Juanma: We were close to getting a draw, we must praise the performance of our players

Al Sadd coach Juanma Lillo thanked his players for their performance in the QNB Stars League Round 4 match against Al Gharafa, which ended with his side losing 1-2.

In his statement to the club website after the match, Juanma said: “We were not bad and controlled the match despite the numerical disadvantage. We played very fast, even with 10 men, and we were capable of getting a better result, but we were not successful.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd lose 1-2 to Al-Gharafa

Al-Sadd lost 2-1 to Al-Gharafa, in the 2022-23 QNB Stars League Round 4 game that was played on Tuesday at the Education City Stadium.

With this result, Al-Sadd suffered their second loss of the season. The team now have four points from four games, with a win, a draw and two losses.

Al-Gharafa took the lead through Ishak Belfodil’s goal in the 38th minute, and then doubled their advantage in the 55th minute, with a strike from Yacine Brahimi. Guilherme Torres scored Al-Sadd’s only goal in the 72nd minute. Al-Sadd played over an hour with only ten men, after Rodrigo Tabata was sent off in the 29th minute. ... 

Baghdad Bounedjah: We need Al-Sadd fans in all games

Al-Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah described the upcoming game against Al-Gharafa as a difficult clash, and spoke of his hope that Al-Sadd will be able to win it with the support of the fans.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Bounedjah said: “The matches between Al-Gharafa and Al-Sadd are always difficult, intense and at a very high level.” ... 

Juanma: Winning the next game will be great for us, we will play better than before

Al-Sadd head coach Juanma Lillo spoke of the difficulty of the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 4 game against Al-Gharafa, which is set to be played on Tuesday at the Education City Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Juanma said: “All the teams are difficult to play against, and so is Al Gharafa, who have great players. We came to know they signed two new foreign players. We don’t know if they are going to play but they have a good track record.” ... 

Al-Sadd resume training to prepare for Al-Gharafa

Al Sadd’s first team resumed training on Saturday, in preparation for facing Al Gharafa in the QNB Stars League fourth round game, which will be played on Tuesday evening at the Education City Stadium.

The players had a break from training on Friday, after their exciting 3-2 victory over Al-Ahli in the third round of the competition. ...
