Al-Sadd clinched the QNB Stars League title after a 3-0 win over Umm Salal in the Round 18 game which was played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Sunday.

The result saw the Wolves establish an unassailable 13-point lead over closest rivals Al-Duhail, with four games to go.

Baghdad Bounedjah scored the opening goal for Al-Sadd in the 34th minute, and Yousuf Abdurisag doubled the advantage in the 51st minute. Rodrigo Tabata then came off the bench to net the third and final goal in stoppage time. ... 

Tarek Salman: Excited for the crowning game

Al-Sadd defender Tarek Salman has spoken of the importance of winning his side’s next game against Umm Salal in the QNB Stars League.

During the pre-match press conference, Tarek said: “We are happy with the team’s successive victories and we are excited and waiting for the crowning game, in which we seek to win.” ... 

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez stressed on the difficulty of his side’s upcoming game against Umm Salal, which will see the Wolves be crowned as champions if they win.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “Our next game is against Umm Salal on Sunday and we can be champions. Of course, this is our target.” ... 

Al-Sadd racked up a huge 6-1 victory over Al-Kharaitiyat in the Qatargas U23 League Round 18 game which was played on Friday at Al-Sailiya Sports Club.

The result sees Al-Sadd maintain their lead at the top of the league table, with a tally of 48 points. Khaled Al-Riyami (25′), and Hassan Ahmed (29′) scored within minutes of each other to make it 2-0 to the Wolves at the half hour mark. Al-Kharaitiyat defender Al Tayeb Kamal then scored into his own net in the 33rd minute, before Saoud Al-Nasr struck in the 45th minute to ensure a 4-0 lead at halftime. ... 

Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez expressed his happiness with his side’s huge 5-0 win over Al-Gharafa, which saw them qualify for the semi-finals of the Amir Cup.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Xavi said: “It is not easy to win by five goals over a team like Al Gharafa. Weplayed a more than wonderful match. We are going through good moments and the team is performing very well and this is what makes me feel proud.” ... 

Al-Sadd defeated Al-Gharafa 5-0, in the Amir Cup 2021 quarterfinal clash that was played today, Wednesday, at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

Nam Tae-hee put Al Sadd in the lead with the first goal in the 25th minute, before Baghdad Bounedjah added the second a minute later. Akram Afif then made it 3-0 at the stroke of halftime. ... 

The Al-Sadd first team concluded their training today in preparation for the game against Al-Gharafa in the quarter-finals of the Amir Cup 2021, which will be played on Wednesday evening at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

Al-Sadd, the defending champions, qualified for the quarterfinal after winning the Round of 16 tie over Muaither by a 7-0 scoreline. ... 

Al-Sadd’s Rodrigo Tabata said that his side is ready to face Al-Gharafa in the quarterfinals of the Amir Cup, and spoke of his motivation to play in the prestigious tournament.

“It will be a difficult match,” Tabata said during the pre-match press conference. “Al Gharafa is an excellent team and we have great respect for them. We must be fully focused on winning the game, and we must play with all our strength to achieve this.” ...
