Félix Sánchez, the head coach of Al-Sadd, described the upcoming match against Umm Salal as important and challenging in the team’s journey in the Ooredoo Stars League. The Round 15 match will take place on Friday evening at the Grand Hamad Stadium at Al-Arabi Club.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Sánchez said: “Our next match will be against Umm Salal, a team that delivered a strong performance in their last match against Al-Duhail. Therefore, we know they will be a tough opponent.” ...

Al Sadd endured its first loss in the 2024-25 AFC Champions League Elite, falling 3-1 to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli in Matchday 7 of the West Region group stage on Monday, 3 February, at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.

The result means that Al Sadd remained on 12 points in the standings.

Akram Afif gave the hosts an early lead in the first minute. However, Roberto Firmino equalized for Al Ahli in the 10th minute, before Roger Ibañez made it 2-1 in the 39th minute. Riyad Mahrez sealed the victory with Al Ahli’s third goal in the 83rd minute. ...

The Brazilian player has signed a four-year contract with Al Sadd, with the deal running until 2029.
