Félix Sánchez, the head coach of Al-Sadd, described the upcoming match against Umm Salal as important and challenging in the team’s journey in the Ooredoo Stars League. The Round 15 match will take place on Friday evening at the Grand Hamad Stadium at Al-Arabi Club.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Sánchez said: “Our next match will be against Umm Salal, a team that delivered a strong performance in their last match against Al-Duhail. Therefore, we know they will be a tough opponent.”
He added: “Umm Salal is an organized team with attackers capable of posing a threat. We will try to deliver a match that reflects our capabilities, with a focus on attacking and controlling the game.”
The Al-Sadd coach continued: “We hope to deliver a good performance and secure the three points at this stage of the season, as it has become crucial to earn points weekly given the intense and close competition.” He pointed out that the victory over Al-Arabi was a positive result that boosted the players’ confidence, especially after the loss to Al-Gharafa.
He concluded by saying: “We aim to deliver a strong performance in terms of both style of play and results, which is extremely important. We are aware that we face a significant challenge in every round of the Qatar Stars League, as all matches are closely contested. Therefore, we will give our best to secure the win.”
On his part, Brazilian player Giovani Henrique of Al-Sadd emphasized the importance of preparing well for the upcoming match against Umm Salal.
He said: “Umm Salal is a strong team, and we aspire to win the league title, which means there is no room for losing more points. Every match is like a final for us, and we aim to secure a win in the next game.”
Giovani added: “Everyone knows how tough the competition is this season, and it is a big challenge for us to win the league. We are currently four points behind the leader, and I believe we are capable of winning the title if we secure victories in the upcoming matches.”
