His Excellency Eng. Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Vice President of Al-Sadd Club, expressed his great happiness following the club’s league triumph after defeating Al-Shamal 3–2 in the decisive final match, stressing that Al-Sadd is a club accustomed to titles and built on a winning mentality.
He said: “We congratulate our fans on this achievement. The title came after great effort, especially since we were in eighth place at one stage. However, through the combined efforts of everyone, we managed to return to the top and secure the championship for the third consecutive time.”
He added: “Today we celebrate this title, but at the same time we begin preparing for the upcoming competitions, most notably the Amir Cup, which is the most prestigious tournament for us.”
He continued: “We also look forward to participating in the AFC competition next season, God willing, and we aim to deliver a performance that lives up to the name of Al-Sadd Club.”
He also praised the technical and administrative staff for their tremendous efforts and expressed his appreciation for the fans, saying: “We thank Al-Sadd supporters for their constant backing of the team. We also thank Al-Shamal fans and wish them better luck. Their team had a distinguished season, and they have good players and a hardworking management that deserves recognition.”
