Al-Sadd’s internationals rejoined the first team for training on Thursday, in preparation for facing Al-Arabi in the sixth round of the QNB Stars League. The match that will be held on Sunday evening at the Grand Hamad Stadium.
11 players from the Qatar national team – Hassan Al Haydos, Meshaal Barshim, Pedro Miguel, Khoukhi Boualem, Musab Khidir, Muhammad Waad, Akram Afif, Tarek Salman, Yousef Abdurisag, Abdelkarim Hassan and Ahmed Suhail – joined the Wolves camp on Thursday, in addition to the South Korean duo of Nam Tae-hee and Jung Woo-young, and Algerian international striker Baghdad Bounedjah.
The training session witnessed great spirits among the Wolves, with the return of the first team stars ahead of an important game against Al-Arabi, in which Al-Sadd will look to win and stay top of the league.
Al-Sadd is currently top the QNB Stars League standings with 13 points, from 4 wins and a draw.
During Thursday’s session, the Al-Sadd coaching staff, led by Xavi Hernandez, focused on tactical aspects before moving on to shooting practice, from outside the penalty area and from the sides.
Ali Asad and Salem Al-Hajri, continued training with the first team squad, after their return following an Achilles tendon injury that had kept them away from the team since last February.
Al-Sadd is now scheduled to hold their main training session on Friday evening, during which the coach will make his decisions regarding the starting line-up that will play the match.
Meanwhile, Al-Sadd goalkeeper Saad Al-Dosari, continued to undergo his treatment programme under the supervision of the medical staff of the first team, as he works to recover from a head injury that has kept him away from the team since mid-October.
