Al-Sadd coach Javi Gracia spoke about the difficulty of his side’s upcoming match against Nasaf in the fifth round of the 2022 AFC Champions League group stage, which could determine the team’s fate in qualifying from the group.
In his statement during the pre-match press conference, Gracia said: “I hope that the next match against Nasaf will be different. It is a difficult match against a strong opponent. We drew with them in the first game, under difficult circumstances after the red cards shown to Abdelkarim and Pedro.”
The coach added: “A difficult match awaits us against a strong opponent. All the teams need points in the last two rounds, and we have to focus and play hard in order to get all the remaining points.”
He continued: “We played our worst match in the last round against Al-Wehdat of Jordan. I hope the performance will improve in the next game because there is no option for us except to win, in order to continue competing to qualify from the group.”
Gracia concluded by saying: “We have to give our best against Nasaf. Any result other than winning, and the championship will be over for us. I have great confidence in the players and their ability to win.”
