Al-Sadd head coach Javi Gracia spoke of the difficulty of facing Qatar SC in the upcoming QNB Stars League game.
The postponed fixture from Round 13 is set to be played on Thursday at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Gracia said: “We will play against a team that is in good form. They are defending well and they are well organised. They are getting good results in the league and the Amir Cup as well.”
“We are ready for a tough game and we are ready to give our best.”
Regarding the different possibilities for his team to win the league title, Gracia remarked: “I liked maths when I was a child but now I prefer to only be focused on getting the next three points. We should have the mentality of getting the points in every game.”
He added: “We really need it and I think that’s the best mentality for us. We should try to play every game with the objective, first of all, to play well and as a consequence get the three points.”
“I think every game is different. In last game (against Muaither), we could have killed the game in the first half, but we didn’t do it. We had 23 shots but we only scored one goal. You never know what’s going to happen.”
“I think the best thing for us is to sustain the ambition and the attitude. In this way I am sure we will get the results we want at the end.”
Asked about the congested schedule of games coming up, the coach said: “For sure. the next games could be tougher than before. We are playing every 3-4 days and the players don’t have the required time needed to recover and prepare in the same way for every game.”
“But this is how the competition is and this is the situation we are living through, and we have to be ready for that.”
