Al-Sadd coach Javi Gracia spoke about the importance of his team’s 2-0 win over Umm Salal in Round 18 of the QNB Stars League.
Speaking after the game, Gracia told the club’s website: “It is important in some matches, where you are not at the level you hope to be, to get the three points. The opponent created space in the second half and threatened our goal more than once, but we managed to clinch the match with the second goal.”
The coach added: “We must look at the positive points in today’s match, in which we got the three points and came out with a clean sheet, and we must improve in the upcoming matches.”
He continued: “We are coming off a match in which we played with ten players, and today we played an intense match against a strong opponent, and there must be an opportunity for a recovery process for the players so that we can regain our strength for the upcoming competitions.”
Regarding the upcoming clash with Muaither in the Amir Cup, Gracia said: “We must change our mentality and our players should know that our next game is in the cup, and it will be only 90 minutes, so we must focus and go into the game with full force because there is no room to make amends.”
