Al-Sadd head coach Javi Gracia spoke of his side’s readiness ahead of what he described as “one of the most important games of the season” against Al-Duhail in Round 20 of the QNB Stars League.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Gracia said: “The next game for us is a big clash against a very good team. They’re getting great results and they are in the second position in the table.”
He added: “Everybody knows what happened in the first phase. They are the only team that took points from us with a draw. We are ready to compete, knowing it’s one of the most important games of the season.”
“We know we are the champions but at the same time we need to keep our best level until the end.”
The Wolves clinched the QNB Stars League title with a 8-2 win over Al-Ahli in the previous round, and describing his feelings, Gracia remarked: “I am really happy for all the people who work at the club – technical, medical and all the staff.”
“Everybody helped the team to get these kinds of achievements. For me, this is something amazing and it is something we want to share with all the supporters.”
“Now, we are foucsed on the next competition as well.”
Al-Sadd remain on a record-breaking unbeaten run and Gracia stated: “I don’t know when we may lose. We always have to win and this is our mentality. We are the champions but we need to maintain our level until the end because in this way we will be better prepared for the Amir Cup and the Champions League.”
“Our mentality is to improve and be better day after day.”
