Lucescu: We must show strong spirit against Al-Qadsiah

Al-Sadd coach Razvan Lucescu expressed his pleasure at being in Saudi Arabia while acknowledging the difficulty of the upcoming encounter against Al-Qadsiah, a team he described as having high-quality players and deserving of its place in the AFC Champions League Elite.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Lucescu said: “I am happy to be here. We have a tough match ahead against a strong team with quality players. This is our third match in the competition, and we hope to achieve a positive result.”

He added: “Every match has its own circumstances and characteristics, and we will work to achieve the best possible result. We must show a strong spirit and a high level of fighting spirit to deliver our best, demonstrate Al-Sadd’s character on the pitch and secure victory.”

The Al-Sadd coach continued: “The AFC Champions League Elite provides great motivation for any player who wants to prove his ability and develop. We must be ready for this competition.”

Lucescu also highlighted the importance of squad depth amid a demanding schedule, saying: “The team must be ready, and the injured players have replacements of the same level. With the demands of competing in multiple matches, we need all our players to be ready so that we can continue our campaign and progress in the competition.”

Meanwhile, Al-Sadd defender Tarek Salman stressed the importance of the upcoming match against Al-Qadsiah, underlining the need for concentration and hard work to secure victory and claim the team’s first three points in the competition.

“We have an important match ahead against Al-Qadsiah, a good team that is continuing to develop. We must be fully focused throughout the game,” Salman said.

He added: “We will work hard to win and claim our first three points in the competition. We are looking forward to delivering a strong performance and achieving the result we want.”
