QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd extend lead at the top after 8-0 win over Al-Sailiya

Al-Sadd racked up a huge 8-0 win over Al-Sailiya in the QNB Stars League Round 13 match which was played on Thursday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

The result means Al-Sadd extend their lead at the top of the table, with a tally of 35 points. Baghdad Bounedjah (24′, 80′, 86′, 89′), Nam Tae-hee (36′, 54′), Ali Asad (50′) and Santi Cazorla (61′) scored the goals for the Wolves.

Bounedjah opened the scoring in the 24th minute, finishing off a rebound after Ali Asad’s initial shot was parried by Amine Lecomte.

In the 36th minute, Hashim Ali put pressure on Al-Sailiya’s Ahmed Al Menhali and won the ball on the right, before passing it to Bounedjah. The Algerian international then squared it for Nam Tae-hee, who made no mistake and doubled Al-Sadd’s lead.

The two sides went into the break with the score at 2-0, but Al-Sadd managed to extend their advantage further soon after the second half began.

It was Ali Asad who got the third goal. In the 50th minute, Bounedjah headed Hashim Ali’s cross onto the crossbar, and Ali was at the right place to meet the rebound with an easy finish.

Four minutes later, Nam Tae-hee scored again, after another assist from Bounedjah, making it 4-0.

The scoring continued as the second half progressed, with Santi Cazorla getting on the scoresheet in the 61st minute, netting with a first-time finish after a perfect set-up from Hashim Ali.

In the final ten minutes of the game, Bounedjah stole the show with a quick blitz, scoring in the 80th, 86th and 89th minutes to achieve a super-hattrick.
