Al-Sadd recorded a 2-1 win over Al-Sailiya in the QNB Stars League Round 5 game which was played at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday.
The result meant that Al-Sadd increased their tally to seven points from five games, after two wins, a draw and two defeats.
Andre Ayew opened the scoring in the 17th minute, before Al-Sailiya’s Carlos Strandberg equalised just before halftime (45+1’). Baghdad Bounedjah then got what proved to be the winning goal in the 65th minute. Al-Sadd goalkeeper Ivanildo kept out a penalty from Giannis Fetfatzidis in the 87th minute to ensure victory for the Wolves.
