Al-Sadd head coach Razvan Lucescu said his team faced a tough challenge against Al Hilal in their 2-0 defeat in the second round of the AFC Champions League Elite, stressing the importance of taking their chances in such matches.
“It was a tough and difficult match, and we were unlucky not to score. In games like these, we must make the most of the chances we create,” Lucescu said.
“We are not in our best form at the moment, but we have the ability to perform better in the upcoming matches,” the Romanian coach added.
Lucescu also stressed that there was no room for sentiment in such matches, emphasising the need to play well and remain focused to deliver the best possible performance. He added that the team would have to work with the resources currently available and needed a little more luck to achieve the desired result.
“In football, it is natural for a team to go through periods when it is not at its best. However, we will fight again and work hard to return to winning ways,” he concluded.
