Al-Sadd coach Razvan Lucescu spoke of the importance of the upcoming Doha Bank Stars League Round 2 game against Qatar SC, which is scheduled to be played on Friday, 28 August at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Razvan said: “Usually, the next game is always important because there are three points to be won. It is difficult because the particularity of the league is that in every game, one team could win over the other team. So we must be very well prepared, very concentrated, very focused, to be able to give everything from the first whistle until the last whistle of the referee.”
He added: “The victory against Al Ahli is the past in this moment, and we have to take just confidence from this game, the feeling that we are moving in a good way. On the other hand, we must forget about the first victory because day after tomorrow, it is a totally different game. • And we have to be ready to fight, to run, and to, as l mentioned before, to give maximum to take the three points.”
He concluded by saying: “In every game, if you want as a team to win, you must work hard and you must sacrifice. Quality without working cannot bring results. On the contrary, working and fighting with the quality can bring success.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Agustin Soria said: “We started the championship with a victory, but that is already behind us. Now we have a very important match ahead of us against Qatar SC. It will be a very tough game, but we are working hard to get the three points.”
He added: “We know it will be a very demanding season because, as we all know, the team wants to win everything. We are focused on taking things one day and one game at a time, going step by step.”
