Razvan Lucescu, head coach of Al-Sadd, stressed the importance of the upcoming match against Al-Arabi, within the fifth week of the Doha Bank Stars League for the 2026-2027 season.
The coach said during the pre-match press conference: “We must approach every match with the highest level of concentration, 100%. In addition, we will play for the three points. It is a match in which we must give our best, and our focus must be on it alone.”
He added: “The match against Al-Arabi will be a complicated one, because Al-Arabi is a team that never gives up and always fights until the last moment. It is also physically strong, and has a good mentality in how it works on the pitch. Therefore, we must be at the peak of our concentration, think only about this match, and enter the pitch and play the way we want.”
He concluded his talk: “The international break is always a question mark for any coach. We have many matches ahead of us, starting with Friday’s match. Exciting and difficult matches await us against strong opponents, but as I said, the only match that must be on our minds at this moment is Friday’s match.”
For his part, Al Sadd player Guilherme Torres confirmed the difficulty of the upcoming match against Al-Arabi, saying: “We are going through this stage after a period of training, but we know that we will be ready for the next match.”
He added: “We realize that the match against Al-Arabi will be difficult, and I am confident that we are ready to put on a good performance and achieve a series of positive results during this month, which features many important matches for us.”
