Al-Sadd coach Razvan Lucescu expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance despite his disappointment with the result, noting that the players delivered a good display but failed to make the most of their chances.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Lucescu said: “I have mixed feelings after the match. I am satisfied with the team’s performance, but frustrated with the result. We faced an organised team with quality players and managed to create numerous chances, but we failed to take them as we should have.”
He added: “We missed several opportunities that could have allowed us to settle the match and collect the points. That is frustrating, especially considering the performance the team delivered.”
Commenting on the nature of the competition, the Al-Sadd coach said: “The competition in its current format will be demanding and difficult. It requires us to put in a great deal of effort and approach every match with a high level of concentration.”
Lucescu concluded: “We will try to strike the right balance between domestic and continental competitions and prepare the team as well as possible to deliver our best performances and achieve the results Al-Sadd’s fans expect.”
