Al-Sadd Sports Club announces the appointment of Qatari coach Wesam Rizik, a former player of the team, as the head coach of the first team during the transitional period. The coach will assume his duties with the first team starting from the coming Saturday, 18 November 2023.

As a player, Wesam has achieved numerous championships with the team, notably winning the AFC Champions League title in 2011, in addition to securing the bronze medal in the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan. ... 

Baghdad Bounedjah: We are greatly disappointed with this defeat

Al-Sadd’s Algerian forward Baghdad Bounedjah expressed his sorrow following the team’s 2-0 defeat against Al-Faisaly of Jordan in the fourth round of the AFC Champions League group stage.

In his post-match statements, Bounedjah said, “The team wasn’t at its best, and we didn’t deliver the required performance during the match, unlike Al-Faisaly, who succeeded in capitalizing on the opportunities and scoring the two winning goals.” ... 

AFC Champions League: Al-Sadd lose to Al-Faisaly

The Al-Sadd first team delegation arrived in the Jordanian capital, Amman, at 7:00 PM today, Saturday, in preparation for the AFC Champions League match against Al-Faisaly. The group stage fourth round fixture is set to be played on Monday, November 6th, at the Amman International Stadium.

The Al-Sadd delegation received a warm welcome from the officials of the Jordanian team. Al-Sadd’s delegation includes members of the coaching and administrative staff, along with 24 players, and is led by Mohammed Ghulam Al Balushi, the sporting director of the club. ...
