Following Al-Sadd’s 3-1 victory over Umm Salal in the quarter-finals of the Amir Cup, head coach Juanma expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance and qualification for the semi-finals.

In the press conference after the match, Juanma acknowledged the challenges faced during the first half, stating, “We did not play our best, and there were some mistakes. Umm Salal’s style of play made things difficult for us, and they closely monitored most of our players, creating problems in the midfield.” ... 

Al-Sadd player Ayoub El-Kaabi confirmed that their 3-1 victory over Umm Salal was well-deserved.

El-Kaabi said in his statements after the match, “Qualifying for the semi-finals of His Highness the Amir’s Cup is well-deserved, after the level presented by the team during the match, which was not easy at all.” ... 

Al-Sadd’s first team secured a spot in the semi-finals of the 2023 Amir Cup with a 3-1 victory over Umm Salal in their quarter-final match at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Tuesday.

Al-Sadd will face Al-Shahania in the next round after this victory.

Hassan Al-Haydos netted the first goal in the 52nd minute, followed by Akram Afif scoring in the 57th minute, and then Ayoub El-Kaabi adding the third goal in stoppage time. Umm Salal’s only goal was scored by Yassin Al-Bakhit in the 82nd minute. ...

Al-Sadd suffered a 2-0 defeat against Al-Duhail in the final of the Qatar Cup 2023, which took place on Thursday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
