Hassan Al-Haydos returns to training after recovering from injury

The Al Sadd first team players continued their daily training on the club’s training pitches, as part of the preparations for the 2022 AFC Champions League.

The coaching staff are looking to increase the players’ level of readiness ahead of the start of the continental campaign on the 8th of April. Al-Sadd will play Jordan’s Al-Wehdat, Saudi side Al-Faisaly and Nasaf of Uzbekistan in Group E, with all the games being held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. ... 

Al-Sadd resume training without internationals

The Al-Sadd football first team resumed training on Thursday, after a four-day break.

The Wolves are preparing to participate in the 2022 AFC Champions League, where the team will play in Group E alongside Al-Faisaly of Saudi Arabia, Nasaf of Uzbekistan and Al Wehdat of Jordan.

The competition is scheduled to start on the eighth of April, with all the Group E matches being held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. ... 

Javi Gracia: It was an even game, it’s difficult to accept the defeat

Al-Sadd coach Javi Gracia expressed his dissatisfaction after his side’s loss to Al-Duhail in the Amir Cup semi-finals.

Speaking during the press conference after the match, Gracia said: “In the beginning, I would like to congratulate Al Duhail on the victory.”

He added: “We tried to do our best and we had many chances, but after the red card to Pedro, we tried to attack and conceded another goal. We fought until the last minute and tried a lot, and we showed a strong character, but it was not enough to achieve the result we hoped for.” ... 

Amir Cup: Al-Sadd lose to Al-Duhail in the semi-finals

Al-Sadd exited the Amir Cup 2022 tournament after losing 3-2 to Al-Duhail, in the semifinal clash that was played on Monday, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Al-Duhail’s Ferjani Sassi opened the scoring in the 7th minute, and although Andre Ayew equalised for Al-Sadd in the 33rd minute, Al-Duhail went ahead again through Michael Olunga in the 44th minute. Sassi scored his second of the night to make it 3-1 in the 80th minute. ... 

Santi Cazorla: I won the Amir Cup twice and I know its importance to the fans

Al-Sadd’s Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla confirmed that his side is ready to face Al Duhail in the semi-finals of the Emir Cup, that will be played on Monday evening at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Santi said: “Despite the short period of preparation before the game against Al Duhail in the Amir Cup, our team is fully prepared, and our goal is to qualify for the final.” ... 

Javi Gracia: The Amir Cup is a special tournament

Al-Sadd coach Javi Gracia spoke about the importance of the upcoming match against Al Duhail in the semi-finals of the Amir Cup.

Addressing the media during the pre-match press conference, Gracia said: “We know that facing Al Duhail in the Amir Cup will be special, and this is in a very special tournament, which is the most important one for the fans and of course for us as coaching staff and players. Al Sadd coach Javi Gracia expressed his happiness with his side’s 2-1 victory over Al Wakrah, at the end of the 2021-22 QNB Stars League season.

In his statement to the club’s website after the match, Gracia said: “I congratulate all the players in the team for this victory. We achieved something very special, and we managed to finish the league championship without any loss and with a new record.” ... 

Mohammed Waad: This win marks the end of a remarkable season

Al-Sadd player Mohamed Waad described his side’s 2-1 victory over Al-Wakrah as the culmination of a season in which Al-Sadd achieved remarkable results, after winning the league title without a single defeat.

In his statement after the match, Waad said: “Today’s victory is the culmination of a long season. Our goal is to win every match, and we will work to achieve that against Al Duhail in the Amir Cup semi-finals.” ... 

Al-Sadd defeat Al-Wakrah 2-1

Al-Sadd defeated Al-Wakrah 2-1 in the final and 22nd round of the QNB Stars League, on Friday, at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.

With this victory, the Wolves ended the 2021-22 season without a loss, for the second year in a row. Al-Sadd finished with a tally of 62 points at the top of the table.

Khoukhi Boualem opened the scoring for Al-Sadd in the 19th, and Al-Wakrah equalised through Saleh Saeed in the 50th minute, before Rodrigo Tabata got the winner in the 79th through a penalty. ...

Guilherme Torres: We play to win every game

Al-Sadd’s Guilherme Torres stressed the importance of their upcoming game against Al Wakrah, which is to be played on Friday, in the 22nd and final round of the QNB Stars League.

He said: “Al-Wakrah have been performing well and we respect them a lot. They are ranked third in the table and have advanced to the Amir Cup semi-finals. At Al Sadd, we play to win every game, and we aim to continue our run of victories, even if we have officially secured the league title.” ...
