Ali Asad: We came into the match with great focus

Al-Sadd midfielder Ali Asad expressed his happiness with his side’s 6-0 victory over Al-Wakrah, in the postponed match from Round 11 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking to the media after the match, Ali Asad said: “I am happy to get the win and 3 new points in the team’s campaign. We played a wonderful match against a good team.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd extend lead after 6-0 win over Al-Wakrah

Al-Sadd continued with their dominant run in the QNB Stars League with a 6-0 victory over Al-Wakrah in the rescheduled Round 11 game which was played on Monday at the Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.

The result saw the Wolves increase their points tally at the top of the table to 40 from 14 games, with two postponed games against Qatar SC and Al-Rayyan yet to be played. ... 

Abdelkarim Hassan: We respect Al-Wakrah a lot, our aim is to extend our lead

Al-Sadd defender Abdelkarim Hassan spoke of the importance of the upcoming clash with Al-Wakrah, in the postponed fixture from Round 11 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Abdelkarim said: “Al-Wakrah is performing well and we respect them a lot. They are now ranked third in the table and they will aim to move to second. At Al-Sadd, our objective is to continue winning and to extend our lead at the top, to defend our title.” ... 

Javi Gracia: We will play against a team that’s in their best form

Al-Sadd head coach Javi Gracia addressed the media ahead of the upcoming game against Al-Wakrah in the QNB Stars League, and spoke of the difficulty of the clash, a postponed fixture from Round 11.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Gracia said: “We know that we will play against a team that’s in their best form with very good stats both defensively and offensively. They are a very compact team and we know it will be a difficult game.” ... 

Al-Sadd hold main training session ahead of Al-Wakrah clash

The Al-Sadd first team held their main training session on Saturday evening at the club’s training centre in preparation for the upcoming clash with Al-Wakrah, in a rescheduled fixture from Round 11 of the QNB Stars League. The original game had been postponed after several Al-Wakrah players tested positive for Covid-19. ... 

Al-Sadd resume training in preparation for Al-Wakrah clash

Al Sadd’s first team resumed training at 5:30 PM on Thursday, after a four-day break, in preparation for the upcoming game against Al-Wakrah in the QNB Stars League.

The Wolves extended their lead at the top of the standings after their last win over Al-Arabi, and now have a tally of 37 points.

The team is now preparing for the clash with Al-Wakrah, a Round 11 game that was postponed due to several Al-Wakrah players testing positive for Covid-19. The rescheduled game is set to be played on Monday, the 31st of January at Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium. ... 

Reserve League: Al-Sadd lose to Al-Sailiya

The Al-Sadd reserve team lost 1-2 to Al-Sailiya in the 2021-22 Reserve League Round 6 game which was played at Al-Sailiya ground on Sunday.

The result means Al-Sadd have five points, after a win, two draws and three defeats so far. Al-Sailiya took the lead through Khatab Ziadeh in the 26th minute, and extended their advantage in the 50th minute through Meshal Al-Shammari. Al-Sadd’s lone goal came via Abdullah Al-Yazidi in the 55th minute. ... 

Javi Gracia: Happy to win the derby, we are in a good position at the top of the table

Al-Sadd coach Javi Gracia described his side’s 4-2 win over Al-Arabi as “important” and emphasised the need to maintain the same level in the upcoming games.

In his statement to the club’s website after the match, Gracia spoke about the difficulty of derby matches, and said: “I’m happy to win this game. Derby matches are always different and special. We started the match well and scored an early goal. Then, the match became even between the two teams.” ...

Al-Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham congratulated the team’s players and fans, after winning 4-2 over Al-Arabi, in Round 16 of the QNB Stars League.

In his statement after the match, Meshaal said: “I congratulate the fans and players for the win. The match was not easy, as is the case in derby matches, and we thank God for this four goal victory, which extends our lead.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Arabi 4-2

Akram Afif starred with a hat-trick as Al-Sadd defeated Al-Arabi 4-2 in their derby clash in the QNB Stars League Round 16 game which was played on Saturday at the Grand Hamad Stadium.

Santi Cazorla opened the scoring for Al-Sadd in the 7th minute with a penalty. Al-Arabi then had an effort disallowed for offside, before equalising with a penalty of their own in the 45th minute, through Hamed Ismail. In first half stoppage time, Akram Afif ensured Al-Sadd went into the break on top with a deflected finish to make it 2-1. ...
